Visual Arts
In Semester One, our Year 8 students explored the wonderful world of Pop Art, a movement that emerged in the 1950s and 60s as a bold celebration of popular culture, consumerism, and everyday objects. Pop Art transformed ordinary items, from comic books to food packaging, into striking works of art that reflected the trends of popular culture at the time, and in doing so, challenged traditional ideas about what constituted art. Inspired by this, our students created sculptures featuring food and objects that play a central role in today's culture. As you can see, their sculptures are bright, bold, and visually appealing.
